We all carry struggles that affect us to varying degrees — some define us, some protect us, some we hide, and some we let out when we feel safe.
It’s difficult to be present with our authentic, whole and connected selves when anxiety and depression seem to define us. We all have parts within us that we want to hide or manage. What would it look like to uncover these parts, to understand their value in our lives, and to allow their presence without being defined by them? I’m here to notice these parts with you, to name them, and to support you as you understand their role and significance. The exploration of self in this way results in expanded peace, better boundary setting, and increased confidence to live into our authenticity and interpersonal relationships.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Grand Valley State University in 2011. I have extensive training in mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT/DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Shame and self-compassion inform all of my work. I currently serve as a Board Member at OutSide In, an equine assisted psychotherapy facility located in Grand Haven.
In my personal life, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
